Emery Downs is a passionate filmmaker based in Wichita, Kansas.

Her diverse experience includes commercials, documentaries, narrative film, and live specials.

She recently graduated Summa Cum Laude in spring 2025 from the film program at Wichita State University. During her final year, she worked on two feature-length documentary films, including regional Emmy winner Hope in the Heartland. As well as directing her own personal passion projects, including Em0tion Dance Film, and Misplaced Expectations, a short inspired by Jane Austen's Emma, which was a finalist in this year’s Jane Austen Society of North America Filmmaking competition.

In June, she began her first professional producing job at Justin McClure Creative in Wichita, Kansas, working on projects for Textron Aviation, Meritrust Credit Union, and United Way of the Plains.

When not on set, Emery can be found on stage performing Musical Improv Comedy or out exploring trails with her goldendoodle Monty.

To Emery, creative work is all about bringing people together and amplifying their strengths to create the next most awesome thing ever made.
